Terms of Service

1. Who can use the grid

You must be at least 14 years old to use Wolf Territories Grid. Access depends on your age:

• 18 and over may access all areas of the grid.
• 16 and over may access general public areas.
• 14 and over may access designated areas that match the grid’s maturity ratings.

Some regions and activities require you to confirm your age and location. You agree to give accurate details when asked, in the control panel under your user profile. Giving false details is a breach of these terms.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for everything done with your avatar. Keep your password private.
• Give us a working email address. We use it for password resets and messages about your account.
• Do not sell, share or transfer your account, and do not use another person’s account.
• Alternate avatars (“alts”) are allowed, but using them to evade a ban, harass people or manipulate the economy is not.

3. Content and copyright

• Everything built on the grid belongs to its original copyright owner, not to Wolf Territories Grid or IntelligentWolf Ltd. We claim no ownership of anything you or anyone else creates, uploads or rezzes.
• By uploading or rezzing content, you confirm that you own it or have the right to use it here.
• Respect the permissions creators set on their items. Copying, exporting or redistributing other people’s content without permission, on or off the grid, is prohibited.
• Anything you display in a publicly accessible area may appear in other residents’ snapshots and videos (machinima). If you do not want that, keep the content in a private region or an area with restricted access.
• The Wolf Territories name, logos and branding belong to us. You may not use them without our written permission.
• Open-source software we make available is covered by its own licence, and you must follow that licence.

4. Copyright (DMCA) complaints

If you believe content on the grid infringes your copyright, send us a complaint through the contact page or a support ticket. We will consider it only if it includes proper evidence:

• your name, postal address and email address;
• a description of the work you own, and evidence that you own it, such as original files, dated source material or registration records;
• where the infringing content is: region name, coordinates, object or avatar names;
• a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that the information in your complaint is accurate;
• your signature, or a typed name, as the copyright owner or someone authorised to act for them.

Complaints without this evidence will not be acted on. We may pass a complaint to the person responsible for the content so they can respond.

Wolf Territories Grid is run by a UK company and is governed by UK law. We accept complaints that refer to the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), but a US notice alone does not decide who owns the content. Where ownership is disputed, it must be settled in a UK court, and we will act on that court’s decision. Until then, we may remove or restrict the content if the evidence supports doing so.

5. Region owners and hosted content

• Region owners are responsible for all content in their regions, including content placed there by their tenants, group members and visitors they allow to build.
• Every resident is responsible for the content they upload or rez, wherever they rez it.
• Region owners and residents indemnify IntelligentWolf Ltd against any claim, loss, cost or legal liability arising from content in their region or content they uploaded, including copyright claims. This includes our reasonable legal costs.
• This does not stop us removing content, or suspending a region, when it breaks these terms or the law, or when a court orders it.

6. Conduct

Treat other residents with respect. You must not:

• break the law, or use the grid to plan or promote illegal activity;
• harass, threaten, stalk or discriminate against anyone;
• post adult or offensive content outside areas designated for it;
• commit fraud or scams, or trade grid currency outside our official systems;
• exploit bugs, attack or overload our servers, or disrupt other residents’ experience;
• break the rules on child avatars in section 7.

Illegal activity results in an instant ban.

7. Child avatars

Child avatars are permitted on Wolf Territories Grid. A child avatar is any avatar that looks, or is presented as, under 18, whatever the age of the person using it. Family roleplay, schools, play areas and similar activities are welcome.

If you see this behaviour, report it to us straight away through the contact page or a support ticket. Include avatar names, the region and the time.

8. Virtual currency, land and payments

• Wolf Territories Dollars (WT$), Gloebits and Wolf Credits are limited licences to use features of the grid. They have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not your property.
• Trading grid currency outside our official systems is not permitted.
• Virtual land is a licence to use space on our servers for as long as you pay for it. It is not real property. Land is billed monthly in advance through Stripe.
• If you cancel land, it stays yours until the end of the period you have paid for. Part-periods are not refunded.
• Unused currency and land licences are not refunded, except where UK consumer law requires it.
• Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

9. Suspension and termination

We may warn, suspend or permanently ban any account that breaks these terms. For serious breaches, including anything in section 7, we do this without notice. You can ask us to close your account at any time.

When an account is closed or banned, its inventory, land and virtual currency are forfeited and no refund is given. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

10. Service and liability

The grid is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and to back it up, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that content will never be lost. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for loss of virtual items or currency. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Governing law and disputes

This website and the grid are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any dispute about these terms, the grid or its content, including disputed copyright ownership, will be decided by the courts of the United Kingdom.

If something goes wrong, contact us first through a support ticket or the contact page and we will try to resolve it.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If you keep using the grid after a change, you accept the updated terms.
